No. Kollego is an independent prep product. TestAS is run by g.a.s.t./TestDaF-Institut; Studienkolleg entrance exams are run by individual Studienkollegs or state education authorities. We prepare you for these exams, we don't administer them.
It mostly depends on whether your existing school qualification is already recognized as equivalent to a German Abitur. If yes, you typically need TestAS for competitive MINT programs. If not, you usually need a Studienkolleg year first, ending in that Kolleg's Aufnahmeprüfung. Try our 2-question quiz for a quick pointer.
Digital TestAS is the current, primary format — computer-based, with a 3-subtest Core Module (20 items/25 min each) and a testlet-based Subject Module. Paper-based TestAS still runs a few times a year (e.g. April and October) but is being phased out, and has a differently structured 4-subtest Core Test.
Free gives you one full diagnostic, your first unit of lessons, capped daily practice, and one mock exam total — enough to genuinely evaluate the product. Prep+ removes every cap: unlimited practice, all lessons, unlimited mocks, deep analytics, and every track at once.
No — it's a one-time pass for a fixed window (3, 6, or 12 months), not a recurring subscription. It doesn't auto-renew.
Yes — Engineering, MINT, Economics, Humanities, Life Sciences, and Medicine all have dedicated curriculum coverage, alongside the shared Core Module.
No — it's an IRT-based practice estimate shown as a range, meant to be honest about uncertainty rather than overclaim precision. It is not issued by g.a.s.t. or TestDaF-Institut and shouldn't be treated as a guaranteed outcome.
